Hello everyone!
We want to install a new floor in our bedroom and are wondering if we could lay laminate flooring ourselves. So far, we have only installed carpet on our own and have no experience with laminate or hardwood flooring. Is it possible to do it yourself, or should it be done by a professional?

Hello,

The click laminate flooring is easy to install yourself. I have done it personally. It is important to follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions carefully. Otherwise, the warranty may be void. I almost forgot that the laminate must be stored in the room where it will be installed for at least 48 hours (2 days). The room temperature should be around 20 degrees Celsius (68°F). The humidity level in the room should also be between 50 and 70%.

Best regards

I only recommend laying laminate flooring yourself if you have some DIY skills. Even though the click-lock laminate is not glued down, certain abilities are still required.

Otherwise, a professional should do it; it’s less stressful that way.

I have acquired these skills. Just last week, I installed click laminate flooring again. Previously at my parents’ house and now in my own apartment. I think it works great now, and I no longer need a long time to do it.

Anyone who puts in the effort will succeed.

Laminate flooring can be installed quite well by yourself. I also started with no experience at all and managed to cover several rooms in my apartment. It only gets tricky in rooms with many corners or recesses. But eventually, you get the hang of it.

Exactly, I felt the same way. I just got started and really threw myself into the task. At first, the corners were challenging. But I made some templates, and then I was able to overcome that obstacle as well.
