squier23Hello everyone,
we are trying to decide whether to get an insect screen sliding door for our PSK patio door directly from the builder (for 975 euros) or have it installed afterwards. Similar kits can probably be found online for less, but would there be any advantage if the builder installs it? They would probably just mount it on the outside of the frame or in front of the roller shutter box, right?

First of all, did you have the chance to look at and try the manufacturer’s solutions?
At first, we wanted to order all the windows, doors, and sliding door, including insect screens. The quality was so poor. Everything got stuck and didn’t move smoothly.
We decided against it and had a local company install them afterward. From our parents-in-law, we knew what to expect since they had a similar protection installed by the same company.
It was the right choice. We now have two sliding pleated blinds, which can be shifted to the right or left, depending on our needs.
A standard patio door, 1m x 2.30m (3.3ft x 7.5ft), plus a sliding door element, 1.60m x 2.30m (5.2ft x 7.5ft), cost €1,700 gross.
