mayor333Hello,
we want to install speakers in the bathroom and kitchen.
For the speakers, I have selected the following model:
BOWERS & WILKINS CCM362
These will be connected as a source to the following internet radio device, which can also be linked to a smartphone:
Busch-Jaeger 8216 U Busch-Radio iNet
My question is, which amplifier would be suitable to ensure decent sound quality? Have you used other systems?
We have Busch-Jaeger smart home installed throughout the entire house, and we do not want Alexa in the house.
Thank you

Have you installed other systems? In fact, there is practically an Alexa (Studio) in every room, mainly for voice control of the Shelly devices.Everything else is too complicated and too expensive for me. Just enough to have some background music while I shower…

Built into the wall?
Mounted on a DIN rail in a sub-distribution board?
In a cabinet with a 19-inch rack?
Or as a standalone device out in the open?

What about simply using Bluetooth via smartphone?
I ultimately decided on a Bluetooth ceiling-mounted speaker system. This meant that no in-wall switch device was necessary. I have the Lyndahl CS200BT set, available with either 2 or 4 speakers. Of course, it’s not Bose or Teufel, but it’s more than sufficient for the bathroom while showering. The speakers have a diameter of 180mm (7 inches), and due to the suspended ceiling, they gain some resonance and actually sound quite decent. The amplifier also acts as the Bluetooth receiver and is stored like a power supply within the ceiling.
Using KNX, I’ve made the radio or the power supply switchable. This allows each person to play their own music, Spotify, internet radio, or audiobooks. The set is available from a major retailer for €199 (approximately $215) with 4 speakers. I also got an additional Bluetooth receiver, so I integrated a radio into the ceiling of the living/dining area as well. The receiver costs €89 (approximately $97), so basically for €280 (approximately $302) you get 2 ceiling-mounted Bluetooth radios with full flexibility.
Sorry, I’m new here and not sure if posting links is allowed, so I’m leaving them out for now. If it’s okay, just let me know and I can add them later.
