ᐅ Installing Drawers in an Ikea Ivar Chest of Drawers

Hello everyone,

Today we worked a lot on the Ivar, including assembling a chest of drawers. So far, everything went fine, but we ran into a problem when inserting the drawers—the top drawer just won’t fit. We followed the instructions exactly, but the space between the top panel and the wheels on the drawer slides is too narrow. Could we have missed something, or is there an easy trick we don’t know about?

Can you help us? Thanks in advance! (I might be able to take some photos tomorrow to better illustrate the problem.)

would it also not work if you hold the drawer at an angle with the front lower, insert the rollers first, then lift the front and slide it in?

Thank you very much already, but installing it at an angle doesn’t work either – no surprise, I just realized after checking for the umpteenth time that I actually screwed the rails in the wrong way around. I don’t know how that happened... maybe it’s because of the cold I have.

So, reassembled now it fits and the drawers are in place... oh man... at some point, we also turned the cabinet around, maybe that’s why it didn’t fit anymore...
