Hello,

I have a strange problem. I have a 60cm (24 inch) and an 80cm (32 inch) base cabinet side by side, both equipped with Maximera drawers. In both cabinets, there are two shallow drawers at the top, with the upper one serving as an inner drawer behind the 20cm (8 inch) front of the lower shallow Maximera drawer. In the 60cm (24 inch) cabinet, the inner drawer slides smoothly, but in the 80cm (32 inch) cabinet, it gets stuck in the last centimeter. The issue seems to be caused by the large cover caps over the metal mounting brackets of the cabinet, as they are hitting against them. I have attached the cover on both cabinets, used the second drilled hole for mounting the slides, and assembled the drawers as inner drawers. What could be wrong here?

Thanks in advance!

Did the instructions say that the plastic parts need to be removed? At least for the Förvara drawers, this is the case. They are only meant to cover the hooks and are useless behind drawers anyway.

Hello Nörgli,

Thank you very much! You are, of course, right. The caps also need to be removed from the Maximera drawers. I didn’t take the drawing in the manual seriously, and since there were no problems with the 60cm (24 inch) cabinet...
Sometimes a few words of explanation instead of just pictures wouldn’t be a bad idea in the Ikea instructions.

Now everything works – thanks!
