It’s about choosing our interior platform staircase. The standard option includes a two-stringer staircase. Now, we could also switch to a wooden stringer staircase (without risers), which we also like.
Does anyone have experience with the differences? Or is it just a matter of personal preference? I remember my grandmother’s wooden staircase that always creaked at a certain spot 🙂 We find the wooden stringer staircase somehow feels "warmer" in terms of the living atmosphere. We would like it in white and wood.
Regarding the price difference, we don’t have a quote yet, but we assume the standard two-stringer staircase would be more affordable.
I would appreciate any experiences — either with the type of staircase, personal decisions, or price (surcharge). Thank you.

It really depends on the surroundings which option will fit better or look best. Often, these stairs pass in front of a window, which for me is a definite no-go, but in this case, a stringer staircase would look better than a cut-string staircase.

That will mainly come down to the preference of a significantly deeper wallet, as it is a considerably more complex and robust structure to build. If you are actually only 33 years old (21 at registration 12 years ago), this probably won't be your last house. In that case, when striving for perfection, it’s fine to keep Pareto’s principle in mind.

We just made the decision about our staircase yesterday.
The standard option for us is a double-stringer staircase, but we would have preferred a steel stringer staircase or at least a steel-clad stringer staircase.
Since changing the type of staircase would cost us around 10,000 euros extra, we decided to settle for upgrading the railing and the steps.
A small note: for us, it is not a landing staircase but a staircase with two quarter turns.
