Hello everyone,
I would like to get your opinion and tips on the following matter: I want to renew/improve the indirect (ambient) lighting in our living room. I am attaching a photo of the corner in question. The crooked ceiling spotlight is due for removal, and I would like to install aluminum profiles with LED strips there instead.
Here is my current idea – please correct me if this doesn’t make sense or is a bad idea:
I would use a V-shaped profile and have the LED strips point towards the ceiling. I plan to mount the profile at about just above the shelf (around 80cm (31.5 inches) from the ceiling), and it should run around the corner, possibly extending to the window on the left and to the end of the shelf on the right.
I have never installed something like this before, so I wanted to ask for your opinions to check if my ideas are sensible.
Thanks in advance.

There are different types of LEDs. The closer the LEDs are to each other, the brighter the light. You just need to compare them. Power is usually given in watts per meter (W/m) or lumens.

I could imagine routing a groove into the top edge of the shelf and then gluing the LED strip in.

I’ve thought about it some more. As I said, I lack the skills to route a groove. But maybe there is a profile specifically designed for this kind of application, like for the top edge of a shelf in this case?

Angle profile, with one leg screwed onto the shelf and open upwards towards the wall, is available in various colors and materials
