ᐅ Important Detail Overlooked in Shower Planning

I’m a bit frustrated right now because I forgot an important detail in our walk-in showers: a shelf or recess for shampoo and other toiletries. And that’s despite friends reminding me, who made the same mistake themselves. They still regret having to buy those basket-type holders every year because the old ones start to rust, whether cheap or expensive… eventually they all rust.

Do you have any good ideas for wall-mounted storage solutions?

Thanks for your help!

The niche did not cost us any extra. The tiler in the bathrooms agreed to do it that way.

Here is an excerpt from the bathroom plan:

I can’t say exactly how much the corner shelves cost us. The tiler was paid by the hour. The material was available anyway. He used a board called Wediplatte for this. It was then placed on the wall tiles or something similar. The next row of wall tiles was cut accordingly to fit the corners. We also used stainless steel profiles on the edges, both at the bathtub and the pre-wall installation.

Sorry – I missed that :-)
We did not build; we only renovated.
The tiles were purchased from a building materials supplier in VK-Luisenthal. We bought almost everything there.

If no tiles have been installed yet, a niche is definitely an advantage.

We have a glass panel like this.

Tomtom... I don’t think it’s bad either. But don’t the brackets eventually start to rust as well?
