Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you for the many contributions. I have been a passive member of this forum for a while, and now I’m active! 🙂
After some helpful searching, I found that impact sound insulation on the screed/under the floor covering (in my case oak parquet boards from Parador) only achieves minimal success in reducing impact noise (footstep sounds in the apartment below).
However, I would like your advice. I have 10mm (0.4 inches) available for possible “sound insulation,” and I want to use it as effectively as possible.

I was thinking about multiple layers of different or the same materials? Or perhaps a different, thicker material?

Since I got the floor covering relatively cheaply, I’m also open to somewhat more expensive suggestions.

Thanks in advance for reading, I hope someone can help me.
