Hello everyone,

Today I tried to connect the Välgjord dishwasher. However, the drain hose at the end is about 3 mm (1/8 inch) thicker and doesn’t fit properly onto the IKEA siphon. When I try to secure it with the clamp, the size difference compared to the Välgjord is so significant that the hose folds, and water leaks at that point. Has anyone else purchased and installed one already?

Best regards

I am currently facing the exact same problem.
Could the hose also be secured with a clamp on the second horizontal connection of the Välgjord, or could it slip off due to the absence of ribs?

Best regards

I would just give it a try. If it doesn't come loose with some wobbling and a reasonably firm pull, I don't see why it shouldn't hold.
Of course, be careful during the test to avoid damaging the hose. When in use, I would also check regularly to see if anything has come loose due to moisture and heat.
Asking the kitchen specialists at your IKEA can’t hurt either.

One more thing came to mind:
The two connections sticking out at the top have a thicker collar right at the very end. According to the instructions, you cut off the collar with a knife. But you could also leave the collar in place and carefully drill a hole from above (or something similar). That way, the hose and the clamp would have a suitable diameter to grip onto.
I’ll take a closer look at it.
And thanks for your quick responses!
