Good morning,
I have the following problem: I installed an 80cm (31.5 inches) wide METOD base cabinet for a sink (under a sink). For the drawer front (Maximera high, 80x45cm (31.5x17.7 inches)), a 40cm (15.7 inches) high Brokhult front was joined with a 20cm (7.9 inches) high Brokhult front using a UTRUSTA front connection rail.
When I hang the drawer, it works perfectly; it closes smoothly, and the dampers function properly.
Now I installed the UTRUSTA frame for waste sorting – the drawer still works fine without the bins. But as soon as I put the waste bins into the frame, the dampers no longer work. The drawer can be pushed closed, but only with force – there is no self-closing action anymore.
What could be the reason? Is the drawer too heavy? The bins are still empty, so what happens when they are filled with waste? Or maybe the frame is being pushed too far apart by the bins, causing it to rub against the cabinet wall and obstructing the drawer’s closing action?
Thanks for your help!
