is it possible to use a standard 125cm (49 inches) tall cabinet as a regular cabinet? I would screw a countertop on top of it and place the microwave on that.

If you want to install pull-outs, you can also use the new Maximera drawers, if you can/want to drill new holes.

assamerer14 Dec 2014 10:44We currently have a 60cm (24 inches) base cabinet with a drawer and two pull-out shelves. I would install it there. The back panel should not be an issue.
Or is it allowed to place the microwave in the 195cm (77 inches) tall cabinet...? At the moment, it is mounted on the wall with two brackets.

IKEA-Experte14 Dec 2014 10:56You can place the microwave anywhere as long as there is adequate ventilation. For example, it is not suitable if the appliance has ventilation slots on the sides and fits the cabinet width exactly,
