anni_192816 May 2016 17:17Hello,
I’m currently having trouble with a telescopic pole from the Stolmen system:
The upper part of the telescopic pole, meaning the section with the smaller diameter that normally screws into the thicker pole, is stuck.
The pole can be turned freely in both directions (left/right) for any number of rotations, but I cannot push it further into the thicker pole or pull it out (up/down) => The overall pole height cannot be adjusted. Now I have the problem that the total pole length is too long for its new intended position and it cannot be shortened!
What can I do?
I hope someone can help me, I wanted to finish this today.
Thanks,
Best regards
Anni

IKEA-Experte16 May 2016 20:13A firm strike with the rubber mallet should do the trick.

anni_192827 May 2016 15:03Hello, thanks for the reply!
So you suggest hitting the rod hard enough to force it to slide into place? Unfortunately, that didn’t work!
I don’t have a rubber mallet, but I used a regular hammer, striking a solid piece of wood placed on the rod. That should have the same effect, right?
Additional question:
At the top end of this support rod, there is a plastic cap used for mounting it to the ceiling. Is it possible to get this as a replacement part anywhere?

IKEA-Experte27 May 2016 20:50You can try to unscrew the rods completely and then somehow remove the clamp piece from the tube.
Spare parts are available through customer service; the part number is in the assembly instructions.

Stolmen will not be available for much longer.

I have now ordered through the spare parts form.
However, they also asked for a receipt number, which I no longer have. The item is quite old.
Let's see if it works.
