Hello everyone,
I am planning to install a RUTINERAD oven in the Metod tall cabinet. The cable length is specified as 82 cm (32 inches), which might be a bit too short for the power outlet, depending on the height where the cable exits the back of the oven. If I wanted to adjust the power outlet accordingly, quite a few tiles on the wall would have to be removed... Can someone tell me exactly where the cable is fixed on the oven and/or if the cable can be replaced by an electrician? The electrician will come anyway to make the final connection.
Second question: How much space do you need between the ceiling and the top edge of the cabinet for wall cabinets to hang them properly? I would like to have the 100 cm (39 inches) tall wall cabinets, but the kitchen ceiling height is only 2.50 m (8 ft 2 in).
Thanks a lot!

IKEA-Experte10 May 2015 11:15The holes need to be large because it is nearly impossible to drill perfectly level, and only then can the rail still be aligned.
Regarding the holes, the diameter is important, not the length of the screws. A hex head may no longer fit through the hole of the lock.

Hanging the rail was really straightforward! Even though I installed the rail very close to the ceiling (drill holes 6cm (2.4 inches) from the ceiling), there were no issues, and attaching everything was very easy!
Now all the upper cabinets are already hanging, and the tall cabinet with the oven is also in place. Hopefully, most of the fronts will be delivered on Thursday.
