Schmidti8220 Jul 2015 14:01Hello,
I am currently planning our first IKEA kitchen, which will have a U-shaped layout. On one wall, the water pipes run on the surface, so I need a 10cm (4 inches) gap between the base cabinets and the wall, and therefore a deeper countertop. In the planner, so far the only option I have found to fill this gap is a customizable countertop (“Personlig”) that is 10cm (4 inches) deep. Although this looks fine in the planner, it is not really a practical solution in reality.
Is there any way to use a countertop deeper than 635mm (25 inches) in the planner?
Thank you very much

I believe the IKEA kitchen planner does not support the calculation of the PERSONLIG countertops.
On the Austrian IKEA website, I found a separate Personlig planner for this. However, the welcome message already states that the prices are only valid until August 1, 2014, so they are outdated.
Best regards

robi_aus_ffm20 Jul 2015 17:02hello,
I also had the "pipe issue" and built the cabinet around the pipe; with a bit of cutting, it was no problem. See the picture.
The countertop above was cut accordingly, and this way you save space.
The rear legs are not the black "Metod" ones but the screw-on type.
For the interior, you can either use Maximera drawers with reduced depth or cut the shelves to size.
Best regards, robi

Thank you, now I at least have a rough idea of the cost and don’t have to calculate it manually.
I assume I can discuss this with the consultant when I order the kitchen.
@Robi
Thanks for the suggestion, but the water pipes in my case run horizontally along the wall, about 10cm (4 inches) above the floor.
I’ve even moved the base cabinets further forward in the planner so I don’t have to install any panels.
When I have a bit more time, I’ll start a thread with the current planning status, as I have a few more questions. 😉
