Dear Ikea fans,
While searching for information, I came across this forum and thought I’d give it a try with my question.
For my new apartment, I bought two Pax systems (2.36 m) (7 ft 9 in). All the carcasses are already assembled; the interior fittings are still beside them, and I’ll get the doors sometime next week. However, I would like to install the interior fittings already.
Now to my question:
I assume that the doors require specific holes in the carcass for mounting. However, I haven’t been able to find exactly which holes are needed. Specifically, it concerns the Fardal doors on one carcass and the Vikedal doors on the other. Can someone tell me which holes I need to leave open in the carcasses?
And one more beginner question (first own apartment and first furniture I’m assembling alone):
Is this sequence correct: “Assemble carcasses -> connect them together -> level them -> secure to the wall -> install interior fittings -> attach doors”?
Thanks in advance

IKEA-Experte18 May 2016 12:29Hello, you can use the zoom function on the images as a reference (and hope that the measurements are correct):

My recommended assembly order would be:
Assemble the carcasses -> level them -> connect them -> level again -> secure to the wall -> level again -> install the interior fittings -> doors.
If the sides only rest on one spot on the floor and otherwise on the adjustable feet, the sides should be supported underneath; otherwise, the bottom panel of the wardrobe often breaks, especially for individual units that are not fixed to the wall.

First of all, thank you very much for the idea of using the products on the website. I only searched for the doors themselves, where unfortunately the information was missing. I hadn’t thought about pre-configured combinations. You keep ending up on the same pages, so I hope these are the right ones. I will find out tomorrow. If I don’t add anything else, you can assume it was correct.
And also many thanks for the assembly sequence. I probably underestimated the use of the spirit level, which would probably have been noticeable with a 4-meter (13 feet) box.
