Hello IKEA people,
I’m hoping for some good advice. We just assembled a Nordli dresser. Everything went smoothly so far. However, the drawers don’t close flush; for example, there is too much space between two drawers. From the side view, not all drawers close evenly either, with one side sometimes sticking out about 1cm (0.4 inches) further from the frame.
Is it possible to adjust the hinges, like you can with cabinet doors, to make all the drawers close straight and evenly? Looking forward to lots of ideas!

please upload photos of the entire chest of drawers from the front, from the side, and a fully extended drawer from underneath showing the rail on the left and the rail on the right.

You can upload images to the photo gallery and link them. Otherwise, third-party services such as picr.de also work.

Hello,
I had the same problem. I was already getting desperate, replaced the drawers and rails, but nothing helped. I simply moved the rails of the affected drawers one hole further back. Now the drawers close perfectly. They can be pulled out slightly less far, but that doesn’t bother me. I hope this helps you.

frank_83182 Aug 2015 21:00Hello everyone,
I had similar issues: a drawer in my dresser wouldn’t close properly, and on top of that, the drawer front was crooked. Swapping drawers with each other didn’t help, so the problem must be with the cabinet or the drawer slide. I’m still waiting (five weeks) for a response to my online inquiry. On site, I was told I would have to bring the dresser in. For that, I would have needed to rent a van (making me wonder if it’s even worth it). In the showroom, I then noticed that out of about ten displayed dressers, only one had properly aligned drawer fronts (drawers sticking out and fronts crooked).
I suspect that the manufacturing process (positioning of the drill holes for the drawer slides) allows some tolerance, which leads to this issue. I enlarged the rear drill hole for the corresponding drawer slide downwards by 1 mm (0.04 inches) using a rotary tool, so the slide could be mounted one millimeter (0.04 inches) lower. This largely fixed the problems so that we can live with it. In my view, Ikea doesn’t do itself any favors with this imprecise production. After being really impressed by the Pax system, this somewhat tempers my opinion of Nordli.
