Hello everyone,
I have a major issue during assembly in steps 22-23. The side boards are supposed to be slid into the low footboard in step 22 and then screwed in place in step 23 using part no. 114670. However, the upper screw ends (part no. 114671), which were attached to the legs in step 15, are not visible through the round hole of about 3 cm (1.2 inches) diameter in the side board. The upper screw sticks out about 3.5 cm (1.4 inches) beyond the edge, but the upper hole is located 4 cm (1.6 inches) from the end of the board. For comparison: the lower screw protrudes 4.5 cm (1.8 inches) beyond the edge, and the lower hole is also 4 cm (1.6 inches) from the end, so this fits correctly. In my opinion, the upper hole in the side boards should be offset, similar to the short board at the foot end (distance from end of board is 2.5 cm (1 inch)). The same problem occurs at the head end as well.
What now? Are there longer screws (part 114671) available? Or should I drill new holes in the long boards myself – and what would that mean for the stability?
