So, I’ve been planning for two months now, arguing with my wife, looking for suitable tiles, and I scheduled a measurement appointment for August 18th; and now they’re discontinuing it? Are they out of their minds?

I do find it a shame. I really like the Nodsta. The two possible successors to Nodsta (see a few posts below) don’t really appeal to me. But the new catalog launches on August 12th, so maybe we’ll know more then.

What I’m wondering now—and I hope someone has experience with this—is: when a new cabinet front line is launched, how does the ordering work? So far, I’ve planned everything with the assumption that all fronts are more or less stocked because that’s what IKEA told me. I wanted to order the kitchen right after the measurement appointment on August 18th. That would give me enough time for IKEA to install the kitchen by October 1st.

But with a new front line that probably won’t be in stock anywhere, it could get tight. Does anyone know how quickly IKEA restocks during a product range change?

Thanks in advance.

The successor fronts for Nodsta are already available. Check your local IKEA store.

Thanks for the info! That’s true, of course. Well, then VOXTORP it is! Oh well...

Some fronts like Ekestad or Voxtorp in colors other than white will not be kept in stock but only available as special order.

Hello everyone,

I have been planning my kitchen for a while now and have unfortunately just realized that Kroktorp has been discontinued. So, I will probably have to go with Hittarp.
What are your experiences regarding how long a cabinet front typically remains available? Or is it impossible to say?

The background is that this will be my first kitchen, and I’m not exactly sure how many cabinets I will actually need. So, I thought I’d start small and could always add more later (the additional units would stand separately anyway), but it seems that’s not so simple after all.
