Hello,

Unfortunately, I have to bring up the common topic of fitting a dishwasher from a different manufacturer, as I haven’t found clear information online and there seems to be a lot of confusion around this.

We want to buy a METOD kitchen with the GRYTNÄS front plus an 8cm (3 inch) toe kick. The dishwasher is planned to be placed between the sink cabinet and the stove.

We would like to buy a dishwasher. The question is, the measurements should fit well, I tried to compare the dimensions with IKEA dishwashers and didn’t find significant differences. However, I read in another thread that it’s recommended to use an XXL dishwasher. Why is that? Can’t we use the ones I mentioned just as well?

Also, what do I need to install the GRYTNÄS dishwasher front on a Siemens dishwasher?

Best regards

Yes, that's right, I noticed that too. You could raise the legs by 1 cm (0.4 inches), and then it would probably fit. Then either build a 9 cm (3.5 inches) baseboard or use a standard 8 cm (3.1 inches) one with a 1 cm (0.4 inches) gap that is hardly visible...

Would it be possible to move the dishwasher further back and install a spacer panel between the dishwasher and the front?

What is the purpose of the intermediate layer?

The further forward the front is, the further down can the front go, right?

?

No, it will only hit the base of the dishwasher slightly lower down.

That’s right, horizontally the spacing doesn’t matter anyway.

I’m so frustrated that Behjälplig is no longer available, and the other options (lowering the dishwasher, cutting the front panel, or using Bosch’s folding hinge) are unfortunately rather unsatisfactory.
