ᐅ IKEA Metod: How do I attach baseboards with underfloor heating?

Amand37Hello everyone,
I am currently installing my IKEA Metod kitchen and am at the stage of attaching the baseboards, while needing to consider that there is underfloor heating installed underneath. My specific question is: How do I properly fix the baseboards with underfloor heating to ensure they hold securely without causing any issues with the heating system?
I am especially interested in whether there are any special mounting materials or techniques I should use to avoid affecting the heat output or causing damage to the underfloor heating. It would also be helpful to know if the usual method for fixing baseboards differs when underfloor heating is involved compared to regular flooring.
I am using fixed, rather wide baseboards (about 10cm (5 inches) high), and the floor covering is laminate. I would appreciate any tips or shared experiences!

Alternatively, heat-resistant double-sided adhesive tapes or mounting adhesives are recommended.

When fastening baseboards over underfloor heating, care must be taken not to negatively affect heat distribution.
- Use the shortest possible fasteners or opt for adhesive methods to avoid damaging the heating pipes.
- Clip systems, like those designed for IKEA Metod, provide secure installation without screwing into the floor.
- If screws are necessary, they should only be fixed into the wall or the furniture piece, not into the floor beneath.
- Construction adhesive can be a stable alternative, provided it is heat-resistant and suitable for use with underfloor heating.
In general, heat emission is hardly affected by wide baseboards as long as there is no dense underlay directly on the heating system and the installation does not cause mechanical damage.

Caution is necessary when fixing baseboards over underfloor heating to avoid negatively affecting heat distribution.Exactly! I can only confirm that. It is important to always attach the baseboards to the wall or kitchen cabinet and never screw directly into the floor, as this could damage the heating pipes.

Alternatively, heat-resistant double-sided adhesive tapes or mounting adhesives are recommended.I would like to add: it is best to use special tapes or adhesives that are explicitly certified for use with underfloor heating to avoid any damage or detachment caused by heat.
If possible, I also recommend positioning the baseboards so they can be easily removed later in case repairs to the heating system become necessary. Flexible mounting with clips can be beneficial here.
I hope this helps!
