Hello everyone,

I recently installed an Ikea Metod kitchen with glass fronts and am not completely satisfied with the cleaning results. After cleaning, small streaks often remain, which detracts from the otherwise elegant and modern appearance of the fronts. I would like to know how to clean the Metod glass fronts without leaving streaks and which maintenance measures are recommended to preserve their long-lasting shine. Are there any special cleaning products, specific techniques, or perhaps home remedies that have proven effective? I appreciate any tips and experiences that can help keep these maintenance-intensive glass fronts in flawless condition.

I would also recommend using a mixture of water and isopropanol (about 50:50) on a cloth for stubborn streaks. Afterwards, polish dry thoroughly, and the glass surfaces will look almost like new.

It is also important that the glass façades do not dry in direct sunlight, as this causes the cleaners to evaporate too quickly and leave streaks. It is best to clean them in the shade or in the evening.

Personally, I like the combination of vinegar and water because it is eco-friendly and really freshens up the surfaces. However, be careful not to use too much vinegar, as it can leave a strong smell and large quantities may dull the glass. It’s better to use it sparingly and always polish afterwards.

This is an important note. Vinegar should be used diluted to avoid damage to materials.

In summary, for the long-term care of Ikea Metod glass fronts, I recommend:

- Regular cleaning with a soft, clean microfiber cloth
- Avoiding aggressive or abrasive cleaners
- Always drying and polishing after cleaning
- If desired: use a vinegar-water solution sparingly and selectively

This approach ensures lasting shine and a smooth surface.
