Good morning,

I am planning to order a Metod kitchen in the next few days and have already designed a layout.
Since I am a beginner in kitchen planning, I would appreciate any tips and feedback on what could be improved or done differently.
All base cabinets will have drawers.
The cabinet to the left of the oven will have a hinged door and inside, it will also have drawers.

The appliances I am using are:
Oven: Siemens HS658GXS6
Cooktop: Siemens EH675FN27E
Dishwasher: Neff S72P69X0EU XXL with a Vario hinge and cutlery drawer
Extractor hood: not decided yet, probably the Ikea Underverk
Refrigerator: already owned

2D Küchengrundriss mit Unterschränken, Spüle, Oberschränken und Tür im Hintergrund

3D-Kuechenrender mit Spuelbecken, Holzplatte, Glasabtrennung und Esstisch.

Best regards,
Chris

That depends on individual needs, just like the required countertop space. How large is your sink currently? Is it too small for you? Is the 60 cm (24 inches) domsjö already bigger, and would that be an adequate improvement?

The countertop space between the sink and cooktop could be expanded with the arrangement 40 - 80 - 80 - 60 - dishwasher.

No, the sink is not too small. I just don’t have a draining board anymore. But I think that’s manageable.

I don’t do that either. Anything I don’t put in the dishwasher, I dry immediately. If needed, I use a tray as a draining surface or simply place a dish towel on the countertop. And the best part is, I no longer have to clean a drying rack, which I always found annoying.

Do you mean 40-80 (cooktop)-80 is better than 60-80 (cooktop)-60?
With my current layout, two people can work at the two 60s. With 40 it gets tight, and two people at the 80 is also cramped.

How to do it with two people? Usually, one person isn’t sitting with their feet up in front of the TV while the other is working. In general, the best approach is one that suits personal needs.

I just realized that my planning might already be incorrect.

Window sill bottom edge: 83cm (33 inches). How much space is needed here?
Distance from the back wall to the window sill is about 90cm (35 inches).

The plumbing connection, viewed from the left wall, is 140cm (55 inches) towards the door.
It would be preferable to keep the plumbing connections as they are.
I’m worried that the sink must be installed exactly at a height of 140cm (55 inches), or can the water supply and drainage connections be placed behind the base cabinet?
In my last drawing, the connections are directly at the right edge of the cooktop, so my plan is probably already wrong, since the pipes cannot be routed behind it.
