ᐅ Ikea Melodi height-adjustable lamp

Hello everyone,

we would like to install the Melodi lamp above our kitchen bar.

However, it needs to be height-adjustable, which unfortunately it is not.

Has anyone found an alternative or a way to possibly modify it?

You could replace the IKEA socket with a pendant light fixture, for example.

However, we find these spiral tension pendulums quite problematic 🙁

Therefore, we were hoping for an alternative option.....

There are also designs with counterweights and pulleys where a spiral cable is not needed... these, however, are generally sold as complete pendant lamps.
