I have the following issue:
Assembly of 3 m (10 ft) sliding door pair Pax Malm Oak, white glazed
- each door consists of 4 panels
- the panels have decorative surfaces on both sides, but they are quite different
1. One side is oak, a bit darker (with sharp-edged borders all around)
2. The other side is oak, quite light, almost white, with a glaze-like finish (rounded edges)
Question:
Which side is the front?
At IKEA, the first, usually darker side has always been installed as the front for the Malm Oak "white glazed".
However, now I see that the lighter finish is possible as well.
Judging by the edges, the darker side should actually face forward, because silicone is factory-applied on the frame moldings – the corresponding recesses on the panels have the rounded corners.
According to the assembly instructions, however, the lighter side should face outward.
The rounded edges cannot be seen there.
