Hello everyone, I have an IKEA Malm bedside table at home – a very simple model with four legs. I noticed that this bedside table wobbles quite a bit on my uneven wooden floor and makes a slight rattling noise when touched or when placing something on it. I checked the floor, and in some areas, it’s slightly slanted, which seems to be causing the issue. What options are there to fix this wobbling without having to modify the bedside table or fully level the floor? Are there practical and sustainable tips I can try to make the bedside table more stable? Thank you in advance for your help!
I completely understand that a wobbly bedside table can be annoying. Especially on uneven floors, a table that is usually stable can become a real nuisance. 🙂 Maybe this is also a good opportunity to use the bedside table more creatively? For example, the cork or felt pads you put underneath could be combined with a nice rug or integrated as part of the room’s design. Sometimes it helps to combine a practical solution with a small visual highlight. How does the bedside table feel otherwise – is it easy to move, or rather heavy?
Thank you all for the detailed tips!
That sounds like the best option to me since I don’t want to modify the furniture legs or rebuild the nightstand.
I think I’ll try that and buy some cork specifically for this. Thanks also for the clear step-by-step instructions, they make getting started easier.
One more thing I’m curious about: Does anyone have experience with how durable these cork solutions are? Do they need to be replaced after some time, or do they really last for years?

Cut cork sheet to size and secure it with double-sided tape

They help reduce wobbling, as long as the difference isn’t too big. For more stability, cork discs are more durable.
