Hi,

we are considering which bed to choose. We really like the look of the "Brimnes," but unfortunately it doesn’t have a headboard, and I don’t want to lie with my head directly against the wallpaper.
So we will probably go with the "Malm" bed in white, but we are still undecided whether to get the 160cm or 180cm (63 inches or 71 inches) version. The 160cm (63 inches) bed would be cheaper, especially since we could get one large mattress, which is more affordable than two 90cm (35 inches) mattresses.

What do you think?

Thanks

Hello,

for 180 cm (6 ft):

Having your own mattress and slatted frame is orthopedically better.
It is more common for the bed to feel too narrow than too wide.
A 90 cm (35 inch) mattress is easier to turn and change the bedding than a 160 cm (63 inch) one.
If you separate, each person already has a mattress and slatted frame.
Duvets fit better in the bed.

for 160 cm (5 ft 3 inch):

Better for cuddling in the middle without a gap in between.
During active movements, you won’t "trip" over the gap.
More space left in the room.

I would prefer BRIMNES over MALM because I haven't had such good experiences with MALM. If two people are sleeping, then two mattresses are sufficient.

There is a headboard available for the Brimnes, even a very practical one with compartments. We have had the Brimnes with the headboard ourselves for a few weeks now and are absolutely satisfied.
