we are trying to install Lillholmen bathroom lights. The instructions are quite clear, but there seems to be very little space to store the cable. Are we doing something wrong?

No, sometimes you just need to shorten the cable, then it will definitely fit, and otherwise you just have to arrange it carefully. Basically, it should work if you use all the available space. But as I said, shortening the cable is the safest option and makes it easy to store.
