Oh yes, I really need some help... Has anyone ever assembled the Knopparp sofa and can give me a tip? I would be very grateful! I already filed a complaint with Ikea weeks ago, and today they sent me a replacement sofa, which has exactly the same problem. So I’m starting to wonder if there actually is a solution that I’m not seeing...

I assembled the sofa up to the step shown in the instructions (see photo), but then I couldn’t continue. As you can see in the instruction below, I’m supposed to rotate the rod by 180° to ensure the stability of the seat, and then screw it in.

However, on the rod I received, the fabric seems to be stapled incorrectly (see photo). I would have to rotate it by 360° so that the pre-punched square and the hole line up with the bracket. But if I do that, the seat is pulled forward by a crucial 10cm (4 inches), and then I cannot attach it to the rear bracket, not even with force. It just doesn’t work because the fabric is too short.

I’ve really been going back and forth, wondering if maybe I’m missing something obvious?!

I also can’t just flip the whole thing over because then the zipper for attaching the cover and the rear support bar would be on the wrong side. The fabric is even marked with these two circles to prevent putting it on backwards (seat surface as backrest). So in principle, it should be correct on my side.

Hello,

This is what happens when people don’t upload their pictures directly to the forum but instead link to some other service that deletes the images after a short time…

Yes, that usually ruins the entire threads, which is a shame.
