we have taken over an old Ikea Faktum kitchen.
Since it was already quite worn, we wanted to install new fronts and full-extension drawer slides.
At ERH Hamburg Moorfleet, we were told that fronts for 50cm (20 inch) wide base cabinets are no longer available.
So we bought a pull-out cabinet organizer for the 50cm (20 inch) cabinet and three full-extension drawers for the 40cm (16 inch) cabinets.
This weekend, we worked on installing the new drawer slides into the old 40cm (16 inch) Faktum carcasses.
That part went well, but now the fronts don’t fit flush.
Inside that cabinet, I have one small, one medium, and one tall front. The small front fits perfectly at the top, the large one fits perfectly at the bottom, but the medium one does not fit.
It overlaps either at the top or bottom with the adjacent front.
I have already adjusted the drawer slides up and down one notch... it still doesn’t fit.
Are we doing something wrong?
I was hoping for phone support as stated in the assembly instructions, but apparently that service has not been available in Germany for 2 years...
That is really quite disappointing...
Best regards from Hamburg, I hope someone out there can help...

Maverick185417 Aug 2009 10:14Welcome first of all, and a warm “Moin, Moin” to my old home, Hamburg.
If I understand correctly, you can’t close the drawer because it either hits the front panel above or below. So, it’s positioned about 5mm to 10mm (0.2 to 0.4 inches) too high or too low... Is that right?
If I’m correct, there are 4 holes arranged in a square on the drawer slide. What happens if you try using the upper or lower hole (I’m not sure which one should be used)? The front (or rear) holes would then no longer be used.
What about the adjustment?
If you remove the cap on the side of the drawer front, you can adjust it slightly to the right, left, up, or down—if it’s not actually the 10mm (0.4 inches) issue mentioned above.
The drawer always protrudes either only at the top or only at the bottom, right? Not both at the same time.
Check if maybe you installed the upper or lower drawer one hole too high or too low, so the issue isn’t caused by the middle drawer.
Regarding the fronts:
Did you receive 3 separate boxes, each containing one front panel, or were there 2 boxes—one with the upper drawer front and one with both lower fronts? If you had three boxes, then either the middle or lower front is likely incorrect. But I assume this is not the case?
Please update us on what caused the problem if you managed to find a solution. If not, let me know, and maybe we can figure out something together.
Regards,
