ᐅ Ikea Karlsö Hanging Umbrella Attachment Strap Positioned Incorrectly?

Hello everyone,

I bought an umbrella yesterday, but something doesn’t seem right.
The attachment strap on the umbrella isn’t positioned correctly, and I can’t secure the umbrella to the base to give it some stability in the wind.

You can see how the umbrella clips onto the stand here. It could be rotated 180 degrees, but then the attachment strap would be on the opposite side.

Here you can see the current position of the strap, roughly one frame section too far to the right.

The umbrella only turns slightly. If I turned it enough to make the strap fit properly, I don’t think it would be good for the threads or similar parts — there would be too much tension on the umbrella frame.

Do any of you have this umbrella as well? How is it with yours? Could this be a manufacturing defect?

The strap must be sewn on the outside of the covering, and the umbrella rotated 180°. The strap only secures the folded umbrella.
