Hello!
We have finally ordered our IKEA kitchen *excited*
Unfortunately, there was a small issue during the final consultation with the IKEA staff regarding the range hood.
I wanted to get one that is not visible from the outside. It should be installed inside an 80x60 cm (31.5x24 inches) wall cabinet.
According to the staff, I couldn’t choose one where the front panel "lifts up" because then the wall cabinet wouldn’t be allowed to be 80 cm (31.5 inches) high. That’s fine, no problem — there are also models that you operate with buttons on the bottom. But... then they said I wouldn’t be able to install a decorative trim at the bottom because there would be nowhere to attach it.
There are two more wall cabinets, each 80x40 cm (31.5x16 inches), to the left and right of the wall cabinet with the range hood. I think it would look odd if the decorative trim is missing in the middle.
Would it be possible to simply screw the decorative trim to the 40 cm (16 inches) cabinets on the left and right and just leave it off in the middle cabinet with the range hood?
Has anyone else had the same issue? How did you solve it?

What bothers/wonders me about Ikea is that there isn’t a single hood with enough head clearance. I used to have the “standard” ones too and was regularly annoyed when you hit your head on them. Ikea has been ignoring this for years. That’s why I got a proper hood with enough clearance, and still a 40cm (16 inches) tall wall cabinet fit above it.
Best regards, robiDoes anyone know which range hoods I can integrate so nicely into my Metod kitchen like this?Distance between countertop and base cabinet: 60cm (24 inches)
Wall cabinet height: 80cm (31.5 inches)

In my opinion, the Bosch wall-mounted hoods are unfortunately too deep and too tall.
Any ideas?
