EuropinaHello everyone,
we want to install Besta wall cabinets with individual Grundtal spotlights. However, we have come across the following problem:
The transformer is integrated into the plug. We have wall outlets but, of course, no sockets. Is it possible to open the Grundtal plug and connect the transformer directly to the power supply?
Thank you very much for your help,
Europina

IKEA-Experte20 Jan 2013 12:11Hello,
whether it is possible to disassemble the plug without damaging the electronics cannot be answered here. For safety reasons, such tinkering is not recommended. Anyone capable of doing this safely and properly would likely try it without asking here.
It’s better to see if you can lay an extension cable from a socket. If nothing else is connected, the cable can be quite long given the low load.

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced. The transformer is molded into the plug and cannot be separated from it.
