I don’t need help with installation but rather with a repair, and I hope this is the right place for that.
We have the IKEA Framtid MW C00 S microwave/oven. Unfortunately, the light bulb is broken now.
When I inquired, I was told that a replacement part costs 30 euros. However, the person I spoke to didn’t have any further information about the bulb, so I can’t look for a cheaper alternative locally.
Of course, I could take the bulb to a retailer, but there is another problem. I have no idea how to remove the bulb. It seems like I can keep twisting it forever. Also, unlike an oven, there doesn’t seem to be a protective glass over the bulb.
Can someone tell me what kind of bulb this is and, most importantly, how on earth I can get it out and put it back in?
Thanks very much for your help

IKEA-Experte17 Jun 2012 14:37OVEN LAMP
Special lamp designed for use/installation in the following household appliance: MW C00S
Note: this lamp is not suitable for general room lighting in homes.
Manufacturer: WHIRLPOOL
Part No.: #8348881
Delivery time: available within 2-3 weeks
Price: €26.36 including legally applicable VAT, plus shipping costs
Warning! If the appliance needs to be opened to install the replacement part, this should only be done by persons with the necessary professional qualifications and authorization.
When you read this, and see that the user manual does not mention changing the bulb, and consider your description of the removal attempt, it suggests that only the original lamp can be used and that it should only be replaced by a service technician. Possibly, the appliance must be removed, opened, the lamp replaced, reassembled, the required leak test performed, and the service provider charges accordingly.
I would recommend contacting customer service again to ask how to remove the lamp, since it is not described in the user manual.

Thank you for your help, even if this thanks comes a bit late. 😳
The light bulb definitely cannot be replaced without disassembling the appliance. Since the manufacturer’s service is too expensive for me, I will have the microwave repaired locally.
