I am currently installing a Faktum kitchen with Abstrakt fronts. I’m fairly handy and everything is going well. With some good tools and a bit of skill, you can pretty much manage anything with these kitchens.
For example, I installed all Siemens appliances even though their dimensions are not officially supported by Ikea. Also, fitting three appliances stacked in a tall cabinet (oven, coffee machine, and microwave) was not a problem.
However, now I need to shorten the last two doors on top for two tall cabinets. I’ll just add fresh edge banding and it will be done. But for that, I also need to drill new holes for the hinges, which is exactly what my question is about 🙂.
What is the hole spacing pattern (grid) for the Faktum cabinets? The holes for the mounting plates of the hinges are already in the cabinet carcass. That means the holes for the hinges on the doors must follow the same pattern. Does anyone know about this?

IKEA-Experte30 Aug 2012 14:40Hello,
the cabinets use the standard System 32 hole pattern with an edge-to-hole distance of 28 mm (1.1 inches).

And thanks for the tip about the template; once you know the name, you can also find the video from Hettich about it:
