Hello,

I urgently need help assembling a kitchen cabinet... I bought a base cabinet with three drawers, which has a continuous front panel attached to the bottom drawer.

The front panel has rounded recesses on the left side covered with plastic caps. On the right side, the recesses are filled with matching(!) round plastic discs.

Now, you are supposed to drill the drawer runners yourself at those points. A drilling template is included. However, the instructions show that you should drill into the plastic discs and through the plastic caps. The supplied screws, however, are not long enough to reach into the cavity behind the plastic caps...

Did I possibly misunderstand the instructions?! *g*

Does anyone know this problem?!
I’m about to lose it. All the other cabinets are assembled and were really easy to put together...

Thanks

Hej Sumpfschnecke,

Please write the exact name of the part. We can then look up the manual online and perhaps help you.

With so much expertise in this forum, there’s no reason we can’t figure it out, right?

Waiting for your reply,

Hello,

The problem has not been resolved yet. On the right side, the situation matches the illustration and it works correctly. However, on the left side, there are the same round cavities for which no plastic discs were supplied. Instead, plastic caps were already attached as covers, and the screw does not hold in these.

According to the instructions, these discs are only supposed to be pressed in on the right side. Then drilling must be done using the drill template, and this applies to both sides.

Best regards

Yes, I can take a photo. I’ll upload it later.
I could still use a plastic plug if I had one.
But there are only two in the bag, and of course, I installed them exactly as shown in the instructions. The attempt to remove it again was unfortunately unsuccessful :-)

Hello,
then go to Ikea and say you need 2 x 114.233 (large plugs) and 4 x 114.505 (small plugs).

At least, that’s what my old manual says. Those were the wooden ones back then.
Usually, they send them to you or even have them in stock.
The simple covers that were already installed don’t hold up. You need the plastic ones or the wooden ones. Otherwise, it won’t make sense. If you have questions, just ask.
