In our planned kitchen, there is 35 cm (14 inches) of space next to the stove. Ideally, we would like to have a base cabinet with 5 drawers there.
There is such a drawer cabinet available with a width of 40 cm (16 inches) (FA 114). With some DIY skills, could the drawers and fronts be shortened accordingly?
Alternatively, would it be an option to use the FA 117 with three drawers? This would leave 5 cm (2 inches) unused. Another drawback is that there are only three drawers, and to open the top drawer, you need two steps: first pulling the front with the lower drawer, and then pulling out the top one.
Are there any other suggestions?

We had the same issue. We wanted 55cm (22 inches) of space next to the stove without wasting any room... in the end, we went with a 50cm (20 inch) cabinet and installed a pull-out rod for towels in the 5cm (2 inch) gap between the cabinet and the refrigerator.
The pull-out rod was screwed from underneath onto the countertop, which worked out perfectly. Regarding five drawers... two fit in a 30cm (12 inch) cabinet. With three drawers, the drawers would have been too small for us. However, we only have pull-out inserts, and the bottom drawer is fixed to the door.
Best regards
