Hello,

I recently “inherited” an Ikea kitchen (aka took it over when moving) that includes, among other things, a base cabinet with a pull-out drawer. So far, I’m still a bit unsure about what to store in there—I can’t quite figure out the ideal way to organize it.

What do you typically put in such a cabinet?

Thanks for any insight!

I have a cabinet like that too. Mine is next to the stove.
In the top drawer, I keep smaller cutting boards/breakfast boards. In the second drawer, I store baking paper, aluminum foil, cling film, and also the roll for trash bags, yellow sack, and organic waste bin. In the bottom drawer, I have vinegar and oil, ketchup, and behind that, some juice bottles.
You can also set up a small cleaning cabinet. At the bottom, all the bottles like detergent, glass cleaner, rinse aid... middle drawer: dish soap, dishwasher tablets/powder, stove cleaner, scouring sponge... top drawer: dishcloths, kitchen towels, paper towels...
Or supplies, the dishes... you can simply unscrew the middle drawer and reattach it at the right height.

Best regards

Very practical for bottles. We also built a small spice compartment in the top drawer. Below that are two drawers for cookware (whisks, cooking spoons, spatulas...), and in the bottom drawer, we store dishwasher tablets and similar items. This could also work with a standard drawer cabinet, but there wasn’t (isn’t) one available in 30cm (12 inches) width.
