ᐅ Ikea Expedit as a TV Stand – Any Ideas?

I am considering using an Expedit shelf unit as a TV stand. The product description explicitly mentions that it can be used horizontally. My question is, if I put the unit on legs or casters—planning to use six, with two at each corner and two in the middle—will it support a 37-inch LCD TV plus hi-fi equipment? Or will it collapse under the weight? Has anyone done something similar and can share their experience?

My question relates exactly to the same topic: does anyone have experience with the load capacity of an Expedit "2x4" used horizontally? Is it possible to use it as a bench that can support two people, roughly around 150 kg (330 lbs)?

I can definitely recommend the LACK shelf (horizontal):
It holds a 106cm (42 inches) plasma TV, which has been stable for 2 years now, and the product description even explicitly states that it can also be used as a bench.
