Hi,
I’ve had an IKEA kitchen for a year now and I’m generally very satisfied... except for one thing.
Yes, except for the Domsjö sink. It has been in use for a year and now there are cracks all over the bottom. (Nothing has definitely fallen in, and I don’t even wash my daily dishes in it—there’s a dishwasher. Of course, I do sometimes pour hot pasta water down the drain, but a sink should withstand that.) At first, I thought it was just signs of wear, but these are clearly cracks, although there are no deep grooves yet. The entire sink is covered with them. If it were just an appearance issue, I could live with it (even though it really shouldn’t be like this), but how long until the basin actually breaks?
Now my question: I’ve read that this has happened before with older sinks and that they were replaced without any issues. Is it possible I got an older model, or does this happen regularly with these sinks? Is it worth replacing the old one and giving it another try, or should I look for an alternative sink (not from IKEA)? One replacement would be okay, but if I have to do it every year?
What are your experiences with the white sinks?
THANK YOU,
Tina!
