I would like to have a domsjö double-bowl sink, but the sink and the cabinet need to be free-standing on both sides because there is a door to the pantry on the right and a passage to the hallway on the left. The water connections are on a wall panel that is only 90cm (35 inches) wide.
I have seen that the sink normally rests on the countertop. Can it also be installed without the countertop, that is, 3.8cm (1.5 inches) lower, mounted directly on the Metod side panels? Or do I have any other options?

if the sink is installed deeper, the panel under the sink will no longer fit.
For example, you could screw countertop extensions to the sides, have them extend slightly above, and then attach strips to the cabinet sides.
