About 15 months ago, I bought a LAGAN dishwasher from Ikea, which stopped working after 13 months with loud beeping and continuous draining.
When I called customer service and referred to the warranty/guarantee, my claim was casually dismissed with the question of whether I was using the appliance "commercially." I replied: if using the appliance in an office kitchen counts as "commercial use," then yes.
They said that neither warranty nor guarantee would apply, as the terms and conditions exclude coverage for use in a coffee kitchen (commercial use).
My further point that the dishwasher runs less frequently in our office kitchen than it would in a private household was ignored.
I was then allowed to call a Whirlpool service technician, who, after 40 minutes and removing the water level sensor (approximately 20 euros in parts), presented a total bill of 181 euros.
With a new price of around 350 euros, this is a rather poor cost/benefit ratio after just under a year.
My conclusion: poor service, questionable terms and conditions.
