You can easily trim an Ivar at any point with a few simple cuts and a saw. You don’t need to be an expert handyman for that. If you’re not very skilled, you can simply reinforce the shelves at the modified spots with metal brackets.

hampshire, I’m not going to buy brand-new goods just to modify them. The market surely has something that doesn’t require any adjustments. That’s what I’m looking for. It doesn’t have to be Ikea. But as I mentioned before, there is a slightly more delicate version of the Billy shelf, which is good as well. Hornbach also offers a nice shelving system, name unknown, but it’s available in their stores.

Not as nice as a custom-made cabinet, but practical, and these are leftover materials from the house construction.

I do. It’s basically a semi-finished product then. I trimmed down a Pax wardrobe in our entrance area, taking off 5cm (2 inches). No one notices. The original corner solution includes a rubber strip on one door, which I removed right away.

Regarding the solution shown above by tomtom79: This just won't work. In my opinion, it looks like a cluttered storage space and doesn’t appear particularly sturdy either.

I believe a rail system is a better option. In our case, the pantry door is always open, so it should also look good aesthetically.

It’s a storage room that no one ever looks into.
