Hello everyone, some time ago I bought an Ikea Besta furniture combination, and unfortunately, some of the joints have become quite loose, with small cracks appearing in the material. For minor repairs, especially re-gluing connection strips and small broken areas, I would like to know: which adhesive is best suited for these small repairs on Ikea Besta furniture without damaging the material due to the glue’s effect or excessive pressure? It is especially important to me that the glue dries reliably, preferably transparent, and is suitable for wood-based materials or laminated surfaces. Has anyone had practical experience with this or can recommend something professionals use? Thanks in advance for your tips!

Wood glue like Ponal D3 is completely sufficient. Important: clean the bonding surface, roughen it slightly, then press firmly. Done.

Hey, everything said here is correct! For small Ikea repairs, I have always relied on wood glue – it holds really well. And a little tip: before gluing, you can lightly sand the area with some sandpaper; this helps everything stick better. It might sound simple, but it makes a big difference 😉

Read your tips and agree! Just a small additional input from me: If you need to work quickly and don’t have clamps, a sturdy rubber strap or even a heavy book can serve as a pressing weight. This way, the adhesive holds really well during the initial phase – basically an Ikea hack for small repairs 😄

Great, thanks to everyone for the very helpful answers! I will try using wood glue, sanding the bonding area, then pressing it firmly and allowing it to dry properly. Your advice about slow drying and being careful with the surface really helped me understand the procedure more clearly.

If I encounter any unexpected issues, I will reach out here again. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to help!
