One might almost suspect it’s intentional, to encourage customers to buy entire new furniture sets instead of just replacing the fronts.
But back to the topic: If you don’t want to rely on those clip systems, it’s better to replace the fronts with completely new panels that are cut and drilled — this way you have full design freedom and don’t have to wait for IKEA’s standard dimensions.
