Hello!

Has anyone taken a closer look at the new Besta drawers? I recently bought some for the 38cm (15 inches) high front panels to convert doors into drawers. Unfortunately, these drawer slides are no longer made by Hettich but by another unknown manufacturer, and they don’t run as smoothly. They don’t have the same quality ball bearings as Hettich. Also, they are no longer full-extension slides 🙁

I’m already disappointed; I expected new products to be an improvement, not a step back. The same goes for the flip-up doors, Inreda aluminum drawers, and Framsta glass return panels — they’re no longer available. It’s a shame because I chose BESTA for my office mainly because of the aluminum drawers for hanging file folders. Overall, the range of cabinet fittings has become smaller.

What is better: The hinges now have integrated soft-close dampers, and the shelves are no longer included by default but must be purchased separately. I have far too many spare shelves from my furniture.

Best regards, fleptin

Hello fleptin,

take a look at my thread here on the 2nd page, quite far down:

I was also annoyed that the Inreda drawers are no longer available, as I like the glass/aluminum combination best. An Ikea expert wrote here that the old drawers still fit, only the fronts no longer align properly. Maybe you can still find old drawers through classifieds or similar sources.
