David_793327 Jun 2016 09:14Hello everyone,
I built a tall cabinet from several Besta carcasses and at the same time created a standing desk.
IKEA kindly sent me the hinges from the Besta Burs wall shelf.
As you can see, I want to implement the folding mechanism from the Burs into a standard Besta carcass.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the exact measurements to ensure it folds as smoothly as in the Burs.
In the photos, I marked the drill holes I need; one would be enough to get the X and Y dimensions.

IKEA-Experte27 Jun 2016 13:10Hello, if no one here has the shelf, you will need to measure it yourself at IKEA, but keep in mind that the BESTA carcasses are hollow beyond the row of holes. The top panels are only a few millimeters thick, so they could tear out if you don't screw in close to the row of holes.

The panels are not hollow; the side walls and the front are made of particleboard. 😉
