Hi
I have a question for you die-hard IKEA fans: two years ago, I bought an IKEA Abstrakt kitchen with appliances and have been pretty satisfied overall, until the front glass of my oven door shattered into a thousand pieces... Since then, I’ve made countless calls to IKEA, Whirlpool, etc. Apparently, I now have to replace the entire built-in oven plus the cooktop because the door is not available as a spare part—of course, no one wants to cover the cost... glass breakage.
Does anyone have any idea where I could get an oven door without having to replace everything?
I have a Framtid OVU BOO S!
Thanks for any information!

Within 2 years there is the manufacturer’s warranty, after that the IKEA warranty. That means you first pay the Whirlpool invoice, then go to IKEA and get reimbursed upon presenting the receipt and invoice. In case of a total failure: contact customer service with the Whirlpool report, explain the situation, choose a new oven, settle the difference. Or was the glass breakage due to user damage?
So many questions...

Unfortunately, this happened over two and a half years ago, so there is no warranty. As far as I know, the 5-year IKEA warranty does not cover glass breakage due to user fault. Well, a cookbook slipped from my hand and fell onto the door handle, but it was only from about 10 cm (4 inches) height, and a book, basically a cardboard cover. For the entire door to shatter into a thousand pieces after that seems a bit strange to me and more likely a material defect. Anyway, who can you even explain that to... Glass breakage is glass breakage, and even the household insurance does not cover it......

You could also consider the successor model Framtid ovu b01. It is the successor to your oven.
