Hello everyone,
I’m new here and have a question right away.
I’ve added an extension. The original building is brick, and the new part is coated with plaster in RAL1015.
Somehow, I’m not really happy with how it looks. Does anyone have ideas on how to improve the appearance?
I’ve already thought about attaching brick slips, but the original brick is quite old (35 years).
Best regards,
Michael

The photos aren’t very clear, but one idea that always works is to paint the extension in a very dark gray (almost black). Right now, it practically “glows” in that light color. A dark facade makes the extension visually “disappear.” Then, adding some taller plants around it creates the impression from a distance that there is only the brick building. But be careful—if there is thick polystyrene insulation underneath, dark colors could be problematic (keyword: light reflectance value). Best regards, Steffi33.

The extension here looks quite plain and also seems large compared to the old building. We would either cover the extension with climbing plants or clad it in wood. The window of the old building, which is very close to the new building’s wall, would experience some loss of natural light because of this.
