We are looking for tips or suggestions for the ceiling lighting in our bathroom. The bathroom planner included a suspended ceiling with recessed spotlights in the visualization. We don’t want that, partly because we don’t want to reduce our ceiling height of 275cm (9 feet). Of course, we can define additional ceiling light points in the electrical plan for the electrician. What would you do? For example, I once saw a bathroom light from a well-known smart lighting system brand that allows you to switch between warm and cool white light.
Good luck
Maria

With ultra-thin recessed lights, even 5 cm (2 inches) clearance is enough. A slightly lower ceiling might actually benefit the room, preventing it from feeling like a shaft. Ceiling fixtures can sometimes make the room feel lower than recessed lights do.

When thinking about the design of the light fixtures, consider two categories:
- Task lighting (illumination, light at the mirror, cleaning light)
- Ambient lighting (comfort, aesthetics)
There are certainly fixtures with adjustable color temperature or dim-to-warm features – but besides the color temperature, other factors are important for good lighting.
I would position the ceiling light sources to fulfill their functional roles, taking the mirror into account as well.
The light sources for ambient lighting could be placed more on the walls, for example, indirect lighting.

And if separately, do you have separate ambient light controls for each part of a combined living/dining area? Do you use them separately, or do you usually turn both on with one switch? Are the switches placed next to each other? In that case, you would end up with six light switches when entering the room, right?
